The conference Manuscripts and texts, languages and contexts: the transmission of knowledge in the Horn of Africa was organized in Hamburg on 17-19 July 2014 by the TraCES project together with the ERC projects Ethio-SPARE: Cultural Heritage of Christian Ethiopia (Hamburg) and IslHornAfr: Islam in the Horn of Africa, A Comparative Literary Approach (Copenhagen).
